The Peace Symbol was originally designed in the late 50's and adopted as a badge by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) in Britain and was used by the British Nuclear Disarmament movement. The Symbol was adopted in the 60's by the Anti War Movement and has since been universally recognized as a Peace Symbol.
